While initially released with Patch 11.1.7, the Highlight Assist and One-Button Rotation tools can finally be put to the test in new and challenging Season 3 content. Our class writers have updated their estimates of how much damage is lost using these tools compared to optimal rotations.

What Are The Rotation Assist Tools?
Assisted Highlight and Single-Button Assistant are two tools that are designed to assist players with general combat rotation and learn how their class spells and abilities interact.

The Assisted Highlight feature recommends your next action by highlighting a button on your action bar with a blue border.

The Single-Button Assistant is a new spell that you can add to your action bar that cycles through a pre-determined priority list of abilities and automatically casts them at your current target albeit with one significant drawback: a 25% Global Cooldown penalty.

The Single-Button Assistant and Assisted Highlight tools will:The Single-Button Assistant and Assisted Highlight tools will not:
Adjust to abilities you know, based on selected talents, and include them in the cycle of abilities used or highlighted.
Swap between single-target and AoE spells, based on the number of enemies near your primary target.

Move your character or use any mobility-based buttons like Blink, Sprint, or Heroic Leap.
Change target for you if your current target dies or if you want to debuff multiple enemies (spread DoTs).
Use major offensive cooldowns like Avenging Wrath or Ascendance.
Interrupt enemies or use utility/crowd-control effects.
Use any trinkets, potions, or other similar items in your inventory.
Use any healing or defensive abilities including for tanks and healers.

Rotation Assist Single Target DPS Losses

With some changes to the tools and many class rotations in Patch 11.2, we've updated our initial estimates.

Utilizing simulations and thorough in-game testing, our class writers have determined the rough impact on damage from using these new rotation assist tools compared to optimal rotations in single target scenarios. Cooldowns and consumables were manually used, typically sub-optimally or on-cooldown.
