Although the overall feel of the specialization remains, the core mechanics of Arcane Mage get a slight rework in Mists of Pandaria to simplify its past rotation loop, which, although simple, required some basic knowledge of mana usage to be used to its limits. This was done in several ways that, when combined, reward the player for a slow and steady rotation rather than trying to use your entire mana initially to burst, followed by a conservation phase once Evocation was used.
