Patch 12.0.7 OverviewWorld and Zone Events Guide
The UI still shows a maximum of 900 abundance per run, but offering multiple shards will multiply the actual amount received.
A change that has been requested since launch, this allows players to use 1, 2, 4, or 8 Shard of Dundun at a time, in order to earn more Unalloyed Abundance in fewer runs. The amount of abundance received is simply multiplied by the number of shards used, so there isn't any kind of bonus encouraging players to only run eight shards at a time, it simply speeds up the process from up to eight runs per week down to as few as just one.
1 Shard = maximum of 900 Unalloyed Abundance
2 Shards = maximum of 1,800 Unalloyed Abundance
4 Shards = maximum of 3,600 Unalloyed Abundance
8 Shards = maximum of 7,200 Unalloyed Abundance
Players concerned with the possibility of disconnecting or otherwise failing to maximize their rewards may opt not to risk all of their shards at the same time, but most players running the event multiple times a week will find this to reduce their time commitment significantly.
Players can now spend 1, 2, 4, or 8 Shards at a time to consolidate their runs.
Although abundance events can be run as many times as a player desires for fun and glory, offering a Shard of Dundun causes the event to award Unalloyed Abundance, used to purchase decor, mounts, toys, transmog, and crafting reagents, including the Fused Vitality used to craft high-end profession equipment. Earning up to eight Shard of Dundun per character per week, this required players to run the event up to eight times to maximize their Unalloyed Abundance, turning it into a major grind... particularly for players trying to do so across multiple characters each week.

Having become particularly common for crafters seeking to utilize concentration across multiple characters and desiring high-level professions equipment for all of them, this time sink has been a source of complaint since the start of the expansion. With this change, the system works similar to the Worldsoul Memories activity from The War Within, and while it may be seen as coming too late for some players, it represents a great improvement for those still seeking GLORIOUS ABUNDANCE each week.
