Dungeons are Getting Their Biggest QoL Improvement Yet in Diablo 4

Players have been dying for Dungeon QoL since the launch of Diablo 4, and Blizzard is finally delivering - one of the most-asked for improvements is making its way into the game in Season 12! At long last, Dungeon doors will no longer block players as they speed clear: all doors will be open in Nightmare Dungeons, so players can carve through demons without dying to the door boss.

Season 12 Overview

Quality of Life Improvements

All non-objective doors in Nightmare Dungeons now automatically open.

While this won't open specific objective doors, it should provide significantly fewer roadblocks for players who are trying to quickly run Nightmare Dungeons. Before, it was very possible for a door to block progress when covered by masses of mobs, leading to frustration or, in worst case scenarios, death.

Doors are a frequent subject of contention for ARPG players. Path of Exile is familiar with the debate, especially due to the inclusion of the Alva Temple mechanics in PoE 1: normally, doors need to be opened manually in Path of Exile, but in Alva temples, doors open automatically, leading to the long-running joke that "the technology is there." Now, it looks like Diablo 4 truly does have the technology!
