Dungeon Experience Changes in World of Warcraft: Forever

In an interview by The Sun, Blizzard announced some large changes to dungeon experience in World of Warcraft: Forever.

The Sun Interview Summary

In World of Warcraft: Forever, leveling up is a large portion of the game. In an interview by the Sun, they gave more details about some of the changes (and lack of changes) to the leveling journey. First, there are no changes to the experience curve which means that players will need the same amount of experience to hit level 60 as before. While the activities to get that experience may change, based on the new zones, the total amount required hasn't changed.

One of the biggest changes in World of Warcraft: Forever is to experience gains from dungeons. In the Sun interview, Blizzard announced that the amount of experience from mob kills has been reduced, but the amount of experience from dungeon quests has been increased significantly. This means that your first run of a dungeon will be very, very lucrative, but subsequent runs will not be as potent. Blizzard wants people out in the world and interacting with others.

This change will likely disincentivize farming the same dungeon over and over again. Players may favor questing in the new zones, exploring, or finding a new dungeon to complete instead.
