There's even a Stone of Kinship to help summon other players to the event and a drink station to keep you Hydrated!
Inspired by the Running of the Trolls community charity event, the Darkspear Dash is Blizzard's official celebration of individuality and identity in Azeroth. Active from June 27th through the 29th, participants will be directed to the Darkspear home in the Echo Isles, from which they'll race up Kalimdor and across the Eastern Kingdoms to Silvermoon.
While this sounds like a long way, the Dash is significantly faster than the original Run, thanks to extra movement speed buffs and a convenient portal from the gates of Orgrimmar to the Western Plaguelands, removing the need to travel through the Undercity.
Although you don't have to be a troll to participate, being based in the Echo Isles means that this event is unfortunately only available to Horde players. Alliance players can purchase the tabard in Silvermoon City, but will not receive any quests and will not gain any of the unique buffs necessary to complete the event, even if they do make their own way to the Echo Isles. While the Darkspear Dash NPCs are friendly, there are still many nearby guards who will hurt you.
Alliance players can still visit, just don't let the guards see you!
To get started, speak to any Holiday Enthusiast to pick up the initial Doing the Dash quest. Once in the Echo Isles, players will find new quests, limited duration items to play with, beach chairs, and even a mojo drink station, before setting off on their run to earn Trading Post progress and prizes!
Any Horde player can Participate in the Darkspear Dash, while Completing the Dash as a low level Troll in Style will earn extra Trading Post progress.
Pocket Rainbow, Pocket Rainbow, and Pocket Sand will add a little pizazz and pep to your step.
A Darkspear Dash Tabard can be purchased from Naz'do in the Echo Isles or Taz'do in Silvermoon City for 30 gold.
Obtain the Troll Scroll of Rainbow Roll by finishing the full Darkspear Dash, which also grants a day-long Darkspear Dasher buff and temporary title!
Yeah, mon!
While the Darkspear Dash serves as Blizzard's official recognition, the community organized Running of the Trolls charity event which inspired the microholiday will also be running concurrently on Saturday in the US and Sunday in the EU. Players who wish to join the community celebration or are simply looking for more players to run alongside are encouraged to roll a troll on Feathermoon and Scarlet Crusade in the US or Argent Dawn in the EU.
Begin the event by dashing through the colorful gates and checkered flags!
Run, leap, and spread rainbow cheer as a new surge of activity and celebration sweeps across Azeroth from the tropical shores of the Echo Isles to soaring spires of Silvermoon City with the Darkspear Dash.
Starts : June 27 at 12:01 am PDT
Ends : June 28 at 11:59 pm PDT
This vibrant new micro-holiday invites champions to join the Darkspear trolls and their Zandalari allies in a race across Azeroth, their path marked by celebration, spectacle, and a touch of mischievous magic.
Take a moment to honor tradition, community, and camaraderie in this race across Azeroth inspired by the Running of the Trolls community event—a charity-driven fun run held in support of the Trevor Project.
Find the Festivities and Follow the Rainbow
Accepting the quest "Doing the Dash" from a Holiday Enthusiast in any capital city will lead you to festivities and straight into the splash, sparkle, and booming beach party on the tropical shores of the Echo Isles.
From the Echo Isles, it’s full speed ahead through Durotar, Western Plaguelands, Eastern Plaguelands, Eversong Woods, and Silvermoon City as rainbow-revelers race across continents in a burst of color and chaos, ending in an extravagant pool party within the city’s grand fountain.
Passing each gate has the possibility of granting the “Ready to Roll” buff to fleet-footed runners, allowing them to leap into the air and help increase the movement speed of nearby allies.
Along the way, players can and should drink from the Horn of Mojo at water stations to become Hydrated (and faster on their feet).
A Burst of Brilliant Rewards
Completing the “Darkspear Dash” quest rewards the new Troll Scroll of Rainbow Roll toy, allowing you to leap through the air in colorful style. You’ll be a racing rainbow as you roll like a troll with this toy!
You’ll also get a 24-Hour buff that grants a 30% increase to outdoor movement speed and a colorful rainbow that trails behind you, and the “Darkspear Dasher” temporary title to let everyone know that you ran with the rainbow during the Darkspear Dash.
Colorful new items are available during the dashing festivities, and Naz'do and Taz'do also sell temporary celebration items for 10 gold each. Bonus: Many rainbow-themed toys will have their cooldowns greatly reduced during the Darkspear Dash.
Darkspear Dash Tabard: Available for 30 gold from Naz’do in the Echo Isles or Taz’do in Silvermoon City.
Pocket Rainbow: Imbue the target with rainbow power!
Pocket Sand: Be a revelry buzzkill and disorient your target for 3 seconds.
