Take note that this is not formal Blizzard messaging and until details are confirmed, all inferences drawn are speculation only. The community will receive more information regarding Season 11 during the upcoming Sanctuary Sitdown featuring Rhykker, on October 16th at 11 a.m. PDT.
Gearing Changes
Right at the start, Blizzard mentions significant changes to the two big gearing systems, Tempering and Masterworking. These now-staple systems of Diablo 4 came with the famous "Loot Reborn" Season 4 reworks itemization. If the hype around Season 11 and the buildup over the last couple of months are any indication, we very well might see yet another significant shakeup similar to the Loot changes in Season 4.
Additionally, the mention of Chaos Armor coming back in some form was brought up. Blizzard seems to really like how Chaos Armor turned out, and given the overwhelmingly positive feedback surrounding the feature for Season 10, it would be amazing to have some version of Chaos Armor return.
A new Class of Wanderer
Although Fletcher was very tongue-in-cheek with his comment about the new class being a "wanderer", the term used in-game to describe the player character. But even with the funny comment, there is a lot of information here. In August, several outlets discovered that an encrypted vendor build of patch 2.5 suspiciously included "Paladin" in the name. At this time, it was unclear if 2.5 would be another Season or an Expansion patch.
From what it seems, Season 11 is shaping up to be a Season of reworks and includes a new class, before the Expansion releases later in 2026.
General Combat Changes
Masterworking, Tempering, and a new Class are all flashy, but at the end of the day, the base features of the game should feel rewarding. Blizzard seems to be aware of that, with PezRadar also mentioning Combat Changes, changes to defense/healing for players, and changes to renown going forward into Season 11. These are all standouts due to their impact on players.
While some players might not want to play a Paladin in Diablo 4, they will notice combat changes every time they log in, making it crucial that these are done correctly. Given that PezRadar mentions Season 11 feeling "pretty diff" compared to Season 10 with the changes, Diablo 4 might be in for one of the biggest shakeups to date.
