Devourer Demon Hunter Dominating the Charts After Patch 12.0.5 Buffs

With the first day of raiding in Patch 12.0.5, Devourer Demon Hunters are absolutely demolishing the Overall DPS Rankings. This could be due to several factors, one being the intended buffs, and another being a possible bug.

Midnight Season 1 DPS Tier List

While Devourer also maintained the highest overall DPS in patch 12.0.1, the recent buffs put Midnight's latest Specialization even further ahead of the pack. For example, in patch 12.0.1, there was only a few percentage difference between Devourer and the second-highest performing DPS, Demonology Warlock. In Patch 12.0.5, this changed to over a 10% difference between Devourer and the second-place Havoc Demon Hunter.

Based on our previous tuning analysis, this spec was expected to be the biggest winner of patch 12.0.5, with an estimated 10% damage increase in single-target and 5% increase in overall AoE damage. However, one additional piece to consider is the potential unintended change to Devour. It appears that this skill is generating nearly 18 Fury, opposed to the previous 10 Fury it was originally generating. Finally, the expected nerf to Sweet Suffering was not originally present in Patch 12.0.5, but this has now been fixed.
