Currently, even though it is past midnight on the first Sunday of January on both NA and EU realms, the Darkmoon Faire is currently not active. This is likely a bug that will get fixed early next week, when Blizzard returns from their holiday break.

Darkmoon Faire Not Starting on EU and NA Realms
The Darkmoon Faire event usually starts at midnight on the first Sunday of every month, but players have noticed something strange in the past few hours: There are no Darkmoon Faire events marked on the in-game calendar for the entirety of 2022.
