To unlock this mount, however, you must first meet a few requirements:
Reach Exalted status with the Order of the Cloud Serpent and complete Riding the Skies to unlock Cloud Serpent Riding.
Reach Honored reputation with the Golden Lotus, to unlock the Shado-Pan daily quests in Townlong Steppes.
Last but not least, reach Exalted status with the Shado-Pan, and complete the Surprise Attack! quest.
Reins of the Onyx Cloud Serpent - your reward for hard work and dedication to the Shado-Pan
Upon completing the quest, you will receive the Reins of the Onyx Cloud Serpent! If you can't see Surprise Attack! despite being Exalted, be sure to complete any dailies in the Townlong Steppes area, and complete any pre-requisite quests (those should appear as normal quests as you reach certain reputation thresholds).
