Blizzard’s president Mike Morhaime was among those who officially kicked things off yesterday for those in attendance in a
live opening ceremony. Among the highlights: the official announcement of World of Warcraft’s next expansion,
Wrath of the Lich King!
If you couldn’t make it in person, you can watch the
video of the opening ceremony now.

We’re honored to have so many talented artists among the ranks of World of Warcraft players, and we’re constantly amazed by the incredible Warcraft-themed art the community creates. We’re so impressed, in fact, that this year we’ve decided to place some of your artwork in the 2011 Official World of Warcraft Calendar! We’re inviting players to create a piece of artwork that helps us set the tone for each month and season, using any major in-game holiday as inspiration.
The contest ends February 8, 2010, so get into the spirit of your favorite in-game holiday and let your cup of creativity flow over! See the contest page for full details.
