Blizzard Disables Diablo 4 Affix Due to Audio Issues

Blizzard has announced that it is disabling the Executioner's Affix due to a persistent audio bug. The Affix is getting updated in a later patch to be more forgiving for players. The Executioner's affix was often a pain point for players, known as "the falling swords" affix. Clearing endgame content due to its ability to spawn many of these swords at once, but going forward there will be a cooldown on its spawn and updates to the tracking period.

Season 11 Overview

Hey there,

With 2.5.2, we are temporarily disabling the Executioner’s affix, as it introduced a persistent audio bug. Additionally, we are making changes to the base affix as well so expect it to return new and improved in a later update.

Specific changes:

Added a 1 second spawn cooldown. When killing large groups of enemies with the executioner affix at once, only one sword will spawn instead of multiple.

Removed the tracking period. Swords will now fall as soon as they reach you.
