Blizzard Confirms No Current Plans for RP-PVP Ruleset in WoW: Forever

In the latest episode of the WoW: Forever Podcast, Josh "Aggrend" Greenfield confirms that WoW: Forever currently has no plans for an RP-PVP ruleset.

Players have been wondering whether or not they'd be getting a separate ruleset for RP-PVP. Currently, in WoW: Forevers "Realmless" ruleset options, the only Roleplay ruleset is RP-PVE.

"Whenever it comes to RP-PVP, people really remember fondly stuff like Grobbulus in 2019, but unfortunately, the reality is every other RP-PVP realm we've done since then has followed a different trajectory... and it's one of those things where we'd want to make a decision based on hopes and what we want; we have to make decisions based on what has actually played out and actual player behavior."

Aggrend would go on to provide the example of Crusader Strike on the North American Season of Discovery servers, and how it originally started as an RP-PVP realm and ended up foregoing the RP aspect of it. His final reasoning would be about the RP community's overall size and health.

"RP as a community is honestly pretty small in comparison to the Normal and PvP communities. With our realmless system, in order for it to work, we sort of need a critical mass of players to encourage social interactions, emergent behavior, and also just the economy. Taking that already tight-knit community and splitting it again is something we have to carefully consider in this new world ."

As the game progresses and player base numbers stabilize, potentially we could see an eventual RP-PVP option added to WoW: Forever, as Aggrend would finish by saying "never say never".
