Blizzard Clarifies – Plans for New Classic Content in the West Have Not Changed

After the recent reveal of new Titan Reforged Servers coming to China, many Classic players in the West were left uncertain of Blizzard's plans for the future. During the reveal, World of Warcraft Game Director Ion Hazzikostas stated that alongside MoP Classic and Midnight, these new Titan Reforged servers would be the team's focus for the next year.

Titan Reforged Servers Revealed The Next Step Towards Classic+

Since the Titan Reforged Servers will be exclusively playable in China, many Classic players in the West took this to mean that we would not see a new version of Classic until sometime after BlizzCon 2026. However, Blizzard clarified that the previous statement regarding the team's focus was meant specifically for World of Warcraft in China, and that these new servers do not affect the team's focus on creating new Classic content for their Western audience.

Greetings! We wanted to take a moment to comment on our recent communications we assembled specifically for our community in China. We appreciate the discussion about our updates in China, but we want to clarify that everything in those comms, particularly comments about our focus, is intended for our China community, specifically. What we are working on -- be it Classic Anniversary or Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, Mists of Pandaria Classic and the future of our progression realms, or anything else we are working on in the Classic space -- has not changed, and to be clear: Our announcements regarding our plans in China do not change that.

This feels like a good time to refer back to one of our blue posts, so we'll just leave this here:

We are excited to reveal more when the time is right.

In addition to The Burning Crusade Anniversary, it appears that Blizzard is also working on plans for the future of the Mists of Pandaria Classic progression realms. Could this mean that we'll actually see a Warlords of Draenor Classic next?

New mounts coming to the China-exclusive Titan Reforged Servers

Classic players in the West are desperate for any new information regarding The Burning Crusade Anniversary, the future of Mists of Pandaria Classic, or any additional news regarding the next version of Classic. However, Blizzard reassures that they are excited to reveal more about the next version of Classic when the time is right.

What do you think the next version of Classic in the West will be? Do you believe MoP servers will progress to Warlords of Draenor Classic? Will The Burning Crusade Anniversary transition into Wrath of the Lich King? Or will we see something new entirely, similar to Season of Discovery?
