Automatically Take Screenshots when Defeating Raid Bosses in Patch 12.0.7

Patch 12.0.7 will introduce Dragonflight Timewalking, which will allow players to participate in six new Timewalking dungeons, earn Timewarped Badge, and unlock a new mount - Spawn of Vyranoth. There will also be new cosmetics, mounts, and Toys to earn as part of the event. One of these new Toys, the Photo Finisher, sounds like a good idea on paper, but has functioned inconsistently on the 12.0.7 PTR thus far.

Dragonflight Timewalking Mounts & Transmog

This Toy can be cast any time the player enters a raid, and has no cooldown. Once activated, it will grant a buff for 1 hour that should summon a Bronze Welpling to take a screenshot every time the player defeats a raid boss. While this is an excellent idea in theory, on the PTR, the whelping doesn't seem to show up on every boss encounter. In fact, in our testing, we defeated around 10 raid bosses, and the whelping showed up to take a photograph on less than half of them.

In addition to the inconsistent nature of the screenshots, the images are just of the player's exact screen, as the boss is defeated, with UI and everything. The bronze whelping can clearly be seen popping into existence on the right side of the player, so if the dragonling is taking the picture, shouldn't it be from their perspective? Being able to control the dragonling's perspective and removing the UI from each screenshot would go a long way to making this Toy much more interesting.

Do you think this new Toy should come with additional options, such as filters, borders, or an in-game photo album that can be displayed in your home? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
