Level 30 Guides are Here – Meet our WoW: Forever Class Writing Team

With the launch of World of Warcraft: Forever, just under a month away, our Class Writing team has been busy preparing guides on all aspects of playing your favorite classes. Between playing the Beta and some serious theorycrafting, we asked our class guide writing team to take some time to introduce themselves to you and share their level 30 Overview Guides,

Druid Team

We have four Druid writers, one covering each specialization (with Feral split between Feral DPS and Tank).

Wonder has been playing WoW since 2005 and has spent years theorycrafting Balance Druid with the Classic community. Now the Guild Master of It Is What It Is, he's excited about the opportunity Forever presents to reshape and rediscover Balance Druid.

Wonder started playing in 2005 and had a brief, unenjoyable go at Cataclysm at launch before stepping away in 2011. After a stretch on private servers, he came back for Classic in 2019, became Guild Master, and led a guild through to Wrath.

He has since played a little Cataclysm and Mists in the re-releases, and went deep into Season of Discovery, where he spent most of his time theorycrafting Balance Druid with the community - something he has done since the Classic release.

With Season of Discovery now over, he's all in on WoW Forever, where he is the Guild Master of It Is What It Is, an Alliance PvE OCE guild.

What he loves about Druid is the feel and how thematic it is, especially Balance and Restoration. Balance also has an underdog streak. You have to fight to compete, and there's nothing better than beating someone and talking a bit of trash afterwards.

But the real excitement is the opportunity ahead: a class that has been depleted for a long time is ready to be reshaped. He's keen to be part of that journey, working with the community and developers to help everyone rediscover, re-explore, and get excited about Balance Druid again.

"Balance has an underdog streak. You have to fight to compete, and there's nothing better than beating someone and talking a bit of trash afterwards."

Quick Facts

Favorite WoW MemoryThe AQ40 Bug farm and everything associated with it - from a guildie giving him an IRL quest to deliver a handwritten letter thanking him for joining and supporting the farm, to defending the guild's little hive from Horde players.
Best MountThe Scarab mount.
Most Disliked RaidHyjal. He can't stand the waves, or how slow they are.

My name is Lex, or LexolasTV on Twitch, where I sometimes stream. I'm a "min-maxxer", playing competitively in all Classic versions. I started with <none of the above> in Wrath of the Lich King Classic, joining during Trial of the Grand Crusader before eventually joining the progression and speedrun roster for Icecrown Citadel, maining Feral Druid DPS.

In Season of Discovery, I also played with <none of the above>, getting World First in every raid up to Molten Core, where we stopped doing progression and swapped our focus to speedrunning.

In Cataclysm Classic, I joined <Progress> after <none of the above> quit the Classic progression servers, being on their speedrun and progression roster all the way from Tier 11 until the guild quit after the Throne of Thunder race in Mists of Pandaria Classic.

I'm still playing with <Progress> in Anniversary, and I look forward to racing and speedrunning with them in Forever!

As a "min-maxxer," I mostly play what is good or what is needed for the guild rather than what I want, but whenever there is a spot for Feral Druid DPS I try to get the spot.

"What I love about Feral Druid DPS is that there's always some optimization that can be done. The spec being close to humanly impossible is when I love playing it the most!"

Quick Facts

First WoW MemoryMy parents introduced me to World of Warcraft during Vanilla, when I was only 4 years old. One of my earliest memories is sitting on my dad's lap while he helped me through the Gnome starting zone.
How I Started RaidingAlthough I've played WoW for a long time, I didn't get into raiding until my mother told me to join her, my step-dad, and two of my brothers in the Norwegian-speaking guild <Exception> on Pyrewood Village for AQ40. I was quickly nicknamed "Floorolas" for overaggroing too much on my Warlock.
Favorite WoW MemoryThe progression races in Season of Discovery. Going into an unexplored raid after a long leveling session with friends and competing to be the first in the world to clear the bosses is a feeling I can't wait to experience again in Forever.

Louki played WoW from day one of Vanilla through Legion before returning for Classic, where they reunited with players from the original server and helped take their guild all the way through Wrath. Has since played with <Statement> during Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria.

I've been playing WoW from day one of Vanilla until Tomb of Sargeras in Legion, where Mythic Tomb was the last raid I completed - until Classic, that is.

I've had a blast recruiting a bunch of people from the original server I started on in Vanilla. Somehow, this guild made it all the way through Wrath of the Lich King, where we ultimately called it quits. During Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria I mostly played with <Statement>.

I've had a bunch of great memories in Classic, most of which relate to me being an incredible dumbass.

One involved betting against my entire guild that they wouldn't one-shot Vaelastrasz on release night. They did. It took a while to pay up.

There were a few epic ones too, such as that same guild somehow pulling through and sneaking in the realm-first Karazhan clear with me raid-leading remotely.

Frankensteak is a forever Druid, now writing for WoW Forever. He has mained Restoration Druid since original Vanilla through Wrath, and then again in Classic through the same expansions. He loves to dive into the math behind the spells and find concrete conclusions about the Restoration Druid healing playstyle.

Through the retail expansions, Frankensteak played casually with friends. With the announcement of Classic, he joined a speedrunning guild and enjoyed raiding in an environment he describes as "time-respective high-performance." Others may call this dadcore, but he feels that's misogynistic.

Frankensteak loves Restoration Druid because of the incredible possibilities offered by the shapeshifting nature of the class, allowing Druids to address almost any strange situation that may arise.

People may say a jack of all trades is a master of none, but tell that to his fellow healers on Instructor Razuvious, when he shifted into Bear Form and taunt-dragged an Understudy hell-bent on killing the healers back to the tank.

Quick Facts

Favorite WoW MemoryWhen I was 16, I got a long-distance girlfriend through WoW who I eventually met - and somehow didn't get trafficked or have my organs stolen. Alternatively, AFKing in Dalaran during Wrath Classic and having someone whisper me to say that my guide content helped them heal more effectively and keep their raid spot.
Favorite DungeonZul'Farrak. The 100 Trolls event during original Vanilla was a moment with friends I'll never forget.
Best MountRaptor. It took many, many hours of reputation grinding in Wrath to get a Raptor mount as a Tauren, but it was worth every second.
Most Hated BossValithria Dreamwalker. If Frankensteak wanted to DPS, he'd play a DPS role instead.

Docoda, also known as Ibaraki, has been playing WoW since his teenage years. He started as a Warlock, which he played from halfway through the original Burning Crusade through Cataclysm, before maining Druid, Priest, Paladin, and Hunter at various points over the years.

Currently, he casually plays Hunter in Midnight, but Tauren Hunter was his original love in WoW even before Warlock. He returned to it in Classic Season of Discovery, focusing primarily on the new melee playstyle.

He loves theorycrafting and simming, which led him to contribute to the Season of Discovery Hunter community by making sims, adjusting sims, and writing guides. Now he's back to provide for the Forever Hunter community.

Porom loves Mages and is most excited about creating some new memories in the slower-paced environment of WoW Forever.

Hello, I'm Seksi (Xeny), also known as Woah - soon both with Forever's double names!

I'm a Vanilla-period Draenei Shaman enjoyer. I got into WoW when my Warcraft III guildmates finally convinced me to roll a Priest to heal their Molten Core runs. I played Horde all the way until The Burning Crusade, when I rerolled Alliance and Shaman specifically after trying all the classes beforehand.

I've been playing as a Restoration main ever since, mostly in <Group Therapy> across decades. I was the only Shaman for most tiers because of horrid balance, but was always good with my Spirit Link timings and Chain Heal turbo controller.

I got heavily into Classic when it was re-released in 2019, and it became my main game for a few years, especially after Group Therapy disbanded. It's a great combination of nostalgia and modern-day knowledge that makes for a really chill raiding experience.

I haven't played in any specific great Classic guilds because I was mostly into the GDKP scene, where I met and played with many great players from Progress, Numen, Beef Bar, and others.

Right now I'm mostly waiting for Forever's launch, which I'll be going into with some real-life friends for a new, yet extremely nostalgic, experience.

I started playing WoW back in vanilla, sharing an account with my older brother. What hooked me was the Infernal being summoned by the undead warlock in the cinematic trailer. When I finally made a character on my own account, it was an Orc Warlock called Grazock. Warlocks have been my class ever since.

These days I'm the owner and admin of the Classic Warlock Discord, which I started when Classic was announced.

The Classic beta meant digging through archived Elitist Jerks and forum posts and checking them against how things actually worked in-game. Dozens of spreadsheets later, the whole Warlock community was counting down to launch together.

A former competitive player and guild leader, she now leads Wowhead's Classic and Forever Guide coverage - and is already planning to spend far too much time collecting, working on professions, and making huge amounts of gold in Forever.

Serenal has been playing World of Warcraft since the tail end of Vanilla. When WoW Classic launched in 2019, she quickly found herself back where she felt most at home and has focused almost exclusively on Classic ever since.

Before joining Wowhead, Serenal was a long-time competitive player, earning the realm first titles Celestial Defender and The Magic Seeker during Wrath of the Lich King.

She led a raiding and PvP guild from Wrath through Mists of Pandaria, achieving multiple Top 100 raid kills and earning Hero of the Alliance three times during Cataclysm.

As Wowhead's Classic & Forever Lead, Serenal is incredibly excited for Forever and intends to focus on collecting, professions, and making huge amounts of gold - with a raid or two mixed in, obviously.
