Ruins of Lordaeron Dungeon Guide

New Dungeon: Ruins of Lordaeron

Ruins of Lordaeron is a level 16-23 Dungeon located above the Undercity, immediately to the left once players make their way into Lordaeron. On the beta, there is a lot of new information on this dungeon and what to expect in terms of loot, experience, and bosses:

Ruins of Lordearon Quests

There are 6 quests total for Horde players and 4 quests for Alliance. Horde players will be able to pick up 4 of the quests outside of the dungeon and 2 inside. Two quests will be in the Undercity in the Apothecary area and Sylvanas's chamber. One quest will be at the caravan between Brill and the Undercity, and the final quest will be picked up from the Sepulcher in Silverpine Forest. Alliance players will find all of theirs inside, from an Alliance Friendly/Horde Hostile NPC named Captain Truman.

It should be noted that these quests will appear as Red even at level 17, but the dungeon is very much clearable at that level.

The 6 Horde Ruins of Lordaeron quests include:

A Frightened Request

The Wrath of Rath'mael

The New Plague

Light's Justice

Unending Torment*

Crest of Lordaeron*

*These two are located inside the dungeon; the rest are picked up outside.

The 4 Alliance Ruins of Lordaeron quests include:

Abominable Creatures

Bloodied Insignia

Crest of Lordaeron

Remember That I Love You

These quests will grant players anywhere from 3500 to 9750 experience! Notable rewards for the Ruins of Lordaeron quests include:

TypeItemQuest
One-Hand Mace (Horde Only) The Stitcher Light's Justice
Staff Gnarled Necromancer's Staff The Wrath of Rath'mael
Ring Slain Baron's Signet Abominable Creatures / Unending Torment
Necklace (Alliance Only Tarnished Locket Remember That I Love You

Ruins of Lordaeron Bosses

Ruins of Lordaeron has a total of six bosses and can be done in any order:

Witherfang (Beast): Easy boss where his only real mechanic is not pulling him with other trash packs. Clear out the trash on his path before pulling.

The Baron (Undead): This boss can actually kill your tank fast with his powerful Knock Away. Stun the boss as much as you can and keep the tank up at full HP as much as possible.

Viktor the Vile (Beast): This boss can potentially bug. You fight 5 waves of adds before the boss, and he hits hard, so let the tank grab aggro!

The Abandoned (Undead): This boss appears after 3 waves of adds in Market Street. He has a Frost Nova and Chill effect, but his most important ability is his Drain Life. Keep the tank up and stun him before he finishes the cast to completely prevent it from going off.

Bjork (Undead): This boss only has a very short Anti-Magic Shell cast. Very easy and free boss.

Rath'mael (Undead): This boss will cast Flamestrike on the ground, just forcing you to move to a new spot after it's cast.

Viktor the Vile is a boss players can easily miss, as his encounter starts when you click on the "Kindled Flame" after defeating waves of adds first. Note: On the Beta, Viktor the Vile appears to have a bug where he can potentially not spawn.

Ruins of Lordaeron Trash

The trash here is not as powerful as the trash in Hall of Thanes; however, players can accidentally pull multiple packs due to the high density of mobs here! Players without any sort of crowd control, especially when entering at a lower level, may struggle to kill some of these packs. Paladins will have a great time here at level 20 once they get Exorcism.
