Week 3 of the Race to World First
The Venomous Abyss Race to World First started on August 18th and is still ongoing, with Echo, Liquid, and Method all progressing on the final boss: Ula'tek. Currently several days into Week 3, with both NA and EU having had their resets, the best pull is still quite a ways away from "dead". This boss does not seem close to being beaten yet, though with recent Ula'tek nerfs, we could see a large gap soon. This firmly cements Midnight Season 2 as the third-longest RWF in the modern iteration of the race, and depending on how things go, it could easily climb the ranks (potentially even to the first-place spot).
Sepulcher of the First Ones
Mythic Sepulcher of the First Ones launched on March 8th, 2022, and contained some very difficult and memorable bosses.
Mythic Halondrus is seen as one of the hardest bosses in World of Warcraft due to the bomb mechanic, and was defeated by Liquid after 357 pulls.
Mythic Anduin was also a very difficult boss, taking 216 pulls by Liquid.
Mythic Rygelon was a tough DPS check, taking Echo 203 pulls.
Finally, the Jailer was the end of one of the toughest Mythic Race to World Firsts, and claimed by Echo.
Echo defeated The Jailer on Saturday afternoon of the 19th day of the Race to World First.
Tomb of Sargeras
Mythic Tomb of Sargeras launched on June 27th, 2017, and had two of the hardest end bosses for that era of WoW.
According to old posts, Fallen Avatar took 453 pulls, which is a lot of pulls for a penultimate boss.
Mythic Kil'jaeden took a massive 653 pulls by Method to eventually claim the World First kill.
Method defeated Mythic Kil'jaeden on Sunday morning of the 20th day of the Race to World First.
The Venomous Abyss
The Venomous Abyss Race to World First started on August 18th and is still ongoing on Day 17.
This raid has the potential to be one of the longest, if not the longest, Race to World First in WoW. If Mythic Ula'tek survives until Saturday morning NA time, this will beat out Sepulcher of the First Ones, and if it goes to Sunday afternoon, then this will be the longest Race to World First in modern WoW. It's still up in the air as to whether this will happen, since Blizzard has the potential to nerf the boss further at any point.
Guilds have seen the final phase a handful of times, but are currently relearning Phase 1 to optimize boss damage. We'll have to see how progression over the next few days goes!
