Across the NA Forums, EU Forums, Reddit, and Discords, players have reported a crafting bug where a Crafting Order appears to get lost, or bugs out. This causes the used materials to no longer be returned.
This comes after the missing Spark Bug was fixed, and many players are now looking to craft their desired items to power up their character. The story across many reports seems to be very similar:
A player submits their Crafting Order.
The order cannot be completed or doesn't show up for either player to complete or cancel the order.
The player does not always get their Crests, Sparks, or Crafting materials back.
According to Themfkiller on the Forums, they received a reply from a ticket noting that the behavior is not working as intended.

Had this happen aswell.. dude said my item disappeared from his work order. tried to cancel it but it was gone for me too. sent a ticket, got this response.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any additional details at this time, including an estimated timeframe for when this will be resolved.
From our side, the Farstrider’s Trophy Belt appears to still be associated with your character, but it’s currently being held by the game server. In similar cases, the game server may periodically attempt to return the items to the character when logging in or going through a loading screen. However, due to the nature of this issue and the ongoing investigation, this may not happen in your case.
For now, we can only ask that you wait while the Development team investigates and works on a fix. Customer Support does not have any direct way to resolve this issue at this time.”*
Players who were affected by the Spark bug and now also a crafting bug are frustrated and hoping for a fix from Blizzard, as many lost 80 Myth Crests and also a large upgrade for their raids. This is the second season in a row with a major crafting bug, with Midnight Season 1 having a Recrafting Bug that also caused you to lose crests.
Not every player who tries to use the Crafting system is running into this bug, but until more information comes out, players may want to sit tight before crafting a big-ticket upgrade.
