Windows Central Report

Earlier today, Jez Corden at Windows Central, released news of an internal email that was sent to Blizzard employees from Blizzard president, Johanna Faries.

This email shows excitement for the upcoming BlizzCon on September 12th and 13th in Anaheim, CA, and also contains interesting news about Blizzard's performance in FY26:

Windows Central reports"In FY26 Blizzard ended the year as the top-performing studio in Xbox's studios division, and this past year has marked our third highest fiscal for top line revenue in Blizzard's history."

According to Windows Central, the email also includes details about how Blizzard has started to see consecutive growth again for the first time in 8 years.

"FY25 and FY26 were our first back-to-back years of growth since FY17," Faries explained. "Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred and Overwatch drove exceptional performance in particular, with Overwatch delivering its strongest quarter since 2022.

Just one month ago, Xbox had announced that 1,600 role eliminations, and 3,200 total over FY27 but it was announced that minimal reductions at Blizzard. Considering Blizzard is doing well this makes sense.

With the recent release of Overwatch 2, a Diablo IV expansion, and a constant patch cycle for World of Warcraft in recent years, Blizzard games are in a great era and I'm excited to see what is coming next when it's announced at BlizzCon in a month!
