SEC Investigating Activision Blizzard Regarding Improper Disclosures of Sexual Misconduct and Discrimination

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been added to the list of agencies investigating Activision Blizzard. As reported by The Wall Street Journal, the SEC is requesting information to discern whether Activision and its executives properly disclosed allegations of sexual harassment or discrimination with investors.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is an independent federal agency which enforces the law against market manipulation.

Communications Workers of America Files Unfair Labor Charges Against Activision Blizzard

The Communications Workers of America union has filed unfair labor charges against Activision Blizzard, alleging the company has used coercive rules and tactics in an attempt to prevent employees from organizing to demand a more equitable workplace, such as the previous allegations that HR departments were using non-disclosure agreements to require employees to speak with the company before contacting the DFEH.

Blizzard Renaming Characters and Cities to Remove References to Former WoW Developers

Following the announcement that the Overwatch hero McCree would be renamed, Blizzard is taking further action to remove references to former developers from their games. In an article by The Washington Post, employees have let it be known that similar changes will be made within World of Warcraft, including the renaming of several characters and one city, presumed to be the capital of Argus in Legion, Mac'Aree.

Actually pronounced Muh-KAH-Ree, the capital of Argus may be getting renamed.

Overwatch Team Announces They Will Rename Hero Known As McCree

The Overwatch team has announced they will rename the hero currently known as McCree. The namesake of the hero, Jesse McCree, was let go from Blizzard two weeks ago.

Diablo 4 game director Luis Barriga, Blizzard lead level designer Jesse McCree, and World of Warcraft designer Jonathan LeCraft were let go from Blizzard on Wednesday, two sources with knowledge of the move told Kotaku.
