Patch 12.0.7 Preview
Patch 12.0.7's Expected Release Date: June 16th
With Patch 12.0.7 officially on the PTR, we got a look at the upcoming calendar in-game to see how new events line up. Based on Blizzard's Patch 12.0.7 Preview, we know about the return of Turbulent Timeways, Midsummer Festival, and the new Darkspear Dash event. Dates for all of these are listed on the in-game calendar:
The earliest of the 3 events, Turbulent Timeways is currently slated for June 16th. If you subscribe the 8-week patch cycle theory, then you'll know that's exactly 8 weeks after the launch of Patch 12.0.5 on April 21st. It's possible that all these dates could change in a future PTR build, so take this with a grain of salt.
Expected Patch 12.0.7 Release Date: June 16th
This timeline does coincide with the Midnight Roadmap released just prior to the expansion's launch.
Patch 12.1 on August 25th?
What's probably the most curious is the end date of August 25th for the Turbulent Timeways event. The duration of Timeways would run 10 weeks, likely 1 week for each expansion which would be 10 total including the new Dragonflight Timewalking. Typically, major patches launch the same day that Turbulent Timeways ends, so the natural conclusion is Patch 12.1 would release on August 25th.
Expected Patch 12.1 Release Date: August 25th
This obviously breaks with the expected 8-week content cadence, but even that seems flexible since Patch 12.0.5 released 7 weeks after Midnight's official launch so clearly there's some flexibility. While this date also lines up with the rough timeline of the content Roadmap, that would put Season 2 at September 1st with BlizzCon less than 2 weeks away on September 12th.
What do you think of these launch dates for Patch 12.0.7 and 12.1? Do you think we could see changes to the timeline?
