Echo of Doragosa Boss Breakdown
The main mechanic of this fight is Overwhelming Power. Any mechanic that a player is hit by throughout the fight applies a stack of Overwhelming Power. Each stack of Overwhelming Power puts a DoT effect on the player and grants them +5% Haste.
At 3 stacks of Overwhelming Power, an Arcane Rift spawns on the player, and their Overwhelming Power stacks reset back to zero. Arcane Rifts shoot 5 Uncontrolled Energy orbs in a star pattern every few seconds. Players hit by these orbs gain a stack of Overwhelming Power. The goal is to avoid building stacks of Overwhelming Power, despite the Haste buff. Too many Arcane Rifts can quickly fill the arena and overwhelm the party with orbs.
This fight can quickly snowball into an orb spamming nightmare.
Here are the spells that apply a stack of Overwhelming Power:
Power Vacuum: getting hit by the circle that spawns after players are pulled in applies a stack.
Energy Bomb: targets a player with a circle that explodes for damage when it expires or is dispelled, applying a stack.
Arcane Missiles: random missiles that will target random players, forcing an additional stack.
Astral Blast: targets the Tank with an attack that applies a stack.
At the start of the encounter, Unleash Energy is cast which spawns two Arcane Rifts around the boss.
Echo of Doragosa Boss Strategy
Upon pulling the boss, Unleash Energy goes out, spawning two Arcane Rifts near the center of the arena. To avoid getting hit by orbs, the Tank should pull the boss back towards the entrance of the room. If far enough away, the orbs shot from Arcane Rifts will disappear before reaching players.
The big tip is making sure to play where the Arcane Rifts are not for the entire fight. Instead of dodging orbs, outrange them where you can!
The rest of this fight is heavily dependent on player positioning. Even with perfect play, players will inevitably reach 3 stacks of Overwhelming Power due to random Arcane Missiles. When at 2 stacks of Overwhelming Power, spread away from other players, towards the edges of the arena. This is to prevent dropping inconvenient Arcane Rifts.
Unleash Energy only last 2 minutes, so after a duration, the original ones will disappear and players have an open area near where the boss spawned. The party will continue to kite the boss away from Arcane Rifts and give themselves as much space as possible. Make sure to watch the occasional Power Vacuum pull-in. With some planned moving, this keeps the party away from danger as much as possible and greatly increases your chances of surviving the fight.
