Platinum Challenge Mode Sets New Mounts, Pets, & TCG Toys
A lot of these are challenge mode unique versions of toys from rare mobs across Pandaria, while some allow for profession-locked abilities to be accessible to all while in challenge modes!
Challenge Modes
There is now a new challenge for Challenge Modes, the Platinum medal. This medal exists above Gold, and its structure is similar to Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Platinum rewards Valor and some additional rewards for each instance completed within the time limit.
Each dungeon now has a Platinum achievement that rewards a unique toy themed around that dungeon. These toys are only usable inside Challenge Modes, and each may be used inside any Challenge Mode:
Temple of the Jade Serpent: Platinum Boots of Expeditious Retreat
Stormstout Brewery: Platinum “Little Ale”
Gate of the Setting Sun: Platinum Rod of Ambershaping
Shado-Pan Monastery: Platinum Potion of Invisibility
Siege of Niuzao Temple: Platinum Amber
Mogu’shan Palace: Platinum Battle Horn
Scholomance: Platinum VIal of Polyformic Acid
Scarlet Halls: Platinum Battle Banner
Scarlet Monastery: Platinum Sacrificial Dagger
Platinum Boots of Expeditious Retreat
A greatly beneficial toy for non-engineers that gives the same effect as Nitro Boosts, but without requiring the profession! This comes from getting Platinum in the Temple of the Jade Serpent Challenge Mode. So if you're looking to get that nitro boost speed increase but don't have engineering, this should be a CM you should complete first!
Platinum "Little Ale"
The effect of this one, Drunken Inspiration, is pretty strong for challenge modes, as it gives the player a 30% melee, ranged, and spell haste for forty seconds! This is arguably one of the strongest toys to get. By completing the Stormstout Brewery Platinum Mode Achievement, players can get their own personal Bloodlust-like effect without needing one of the classes that provide it!
Platinum Rod of Ambershaping
A challenge mode-unique version of Rod of Ambershaping, which normally drops from Ski'thik in the open world. This Toy allows any player to CC mobs in challenge modes for one minute, regardless of their class! Complete the Platinum Achievement for Gate of the Setting Sun to unlock your personal Challenge Mode CC ability!
Platinum Potion of Invisibility
This personal Invisibility Potion toy comes from the Platinum Achievement for Shado-Pan Monastery, allowing for skipping certain areas or mobs for better clear times!
Platinum Amber
An incredibly strong health and mana potion for challenge modes, almost like a personal Lay on Hands for the player! This personal lifesaver comes from completing Siege of Niuzao Temples Platinum Challenge Mode. Should you find yourself locked in a crucial 1v1 or just in desperate need of a strong Health or Mana increase, this should be a dungeon you look to complete first.
Platinum Battle Horn
A challenge mode-unique version of Battle Horn, allowing for mass pulls in these dungeons for quicker clear times. The original version comes from Blackhoof in Valley of the Four Winds, while the Challenge Mode Platinum version comes from Mogu'Shan Palace.

Platinum Vial of Polyformic Acid
The challenge mode version of Polyformic Acid Potion grants a strong damage buff against enemies. The original version is only obtainable in Professor Slate's room, which is located in the last room before the final boss of the dungeon.

The Platinum version allows you to have the buff active throughout the entire dungeon! It should come as no surprise which dungeon rewards this toy when completing its Platinum timer (it's Scholomance by the way!)
Platinum Battle Banner
A challenge mode-unique version of Salyin Battle Banner allows players to temporarily relieve threat! The original comes from a Salyin Warscout in the Valley of the Four Winds. This version is unlocked when you complete the Platinum timer for the Scarlet Halls.
A summoned Salyin Warscout
Platinum Sacrificial Dagger
This item becomes available with the Isle of Thunder, but in case you don't wait to farm this incredibly "useful" toy in the game, you can now obtain it by completing the Scarlet Monestary Platinum Challenge Mode!
Platinum Drums of Speed
The challenge mode-exclusive toy version of Drums of Speed, allowing for your party's own personal speed boost without requiring Leatherworking! The source of this Toy is currently unknown.
