After noting that players heavily preferred to level in Nightmare Incursions, instead of exploring Azeroth or running dungeons, an attempt to promote these other methods has been made. The experience from Incursions has been significantly nerfed — from roughly 7000 experience per quest all the way down to 3000 according to a recent Reddit post.

I’ve been very, very good this year. I killed Anub’Arak… twice. I only punted gnomes with pink hair. And I only ninja-looted once, but it was an accident no matter what that warlock tells you. I’m looking forward to getting my Winter Veil gift, and think Smokywood Pastures is the greatest company ever( even if I can’t wear my belt anymore). Please bring me something nice this year. I’ve been ever-so-good (relatively speaking) and deserve something worthy a hero of my stature.
