We previously reported on this Global maintenance, as it occurred during EU Prime Time for raiding. EU players (and really anyone that wants to play during this time) should log in before the maintenance starts and hope that the maintenance is as short as possible.

Global Maintenance on October 6th – Players Likely Unable to Log-In
Blizzard has commented on the upcoming global maintenance on October 6th, noting that this maintenance is for a global infrastructure upgrade which will likely prevent players from logging in, but realms will not go offline.
