Each summer, the arrival of the Midsummer Fire Festival signals a time of merriment and a chance to revel in the hottest season of the year by lighting celebratory bonfires across the land and sharing in what the elemental spirits have to offer. This year (beginning Saturday, June 21st and continuing until July 5), the festival features some brand-new events, quests, and prizes, including a special summoned boss for groups of high-level players. The Blizzard Fan Art Section has been updated with new pieces of artwork.

The newest issue of the World of Warcraft comic book series from WildStorm will arrive in stores tomorrow, 6/18/08. “The Return”
begins a new story arc, as upon learning he is in fact the missing king of Stormwind, Lo’Gosh returns to reclaim his throne with
his comrades-in-arms Valeera and Broll. But all is not as it seems in the Eastern Kingdoms, especially if one informed dwarf has

about one of the new species you’ll encounter in Northrend, the jormungar.

The fiercely aggressive jormungar are a marvel of evolution, possessing rows of chisel-like teeth capable of boring through solid rock, as well as muscular, flattened bodies well adapted to rapid underground navigation.

We’ve updated our music player with a new track, “Power of the Horde” by Tenth Level Tauren Chieftain. Originally featured in Warcraft III as a hidden song, this blistering track can also be heard during the band’s live set at the Darkmoon Faire.
