Did Blizzard Tease Future WoW: Forever Class and Race Combinations?

Blizzard recently released a 30-minute Launch Overview video on the official World of Warcraft YouTube channel that gave a quick rundown of the new content and features coming in Forever, with an exclusive first look at some of the new dungeons and raid content.

However, people were quick to notice that some things were a bit off, as Chaos Bolts and other things that are not currently in the game were teased in certain shots.

That was not the only strange thing that was spotted. In several frames, a Druid could be seen using Starfall, an iconic ability from Wrath of the Lich King. Odd race combinations also made an appearance, like a Skyborne Paladin, a Tauren Mage casting Frostbolt, and a Night Elf rocking the Shaman tier 0.5 set.

Could these be teasers of what's to come or relics of things already far gone? It's likely the latter, but it serves as an interesting window into what the design philosophy may have been when developing Forever.

It's very possible that these spells and race combinations were things that were metaphorically thrown at the wall, but didn't stick. WoW trailers have been known to "reveal" things that never come to pass, with creative license and rule of cool taking over to advertise the game.

Or who knows - perhaps a Grimoire of Forbidden Chaos Magic hides somewhere in the world to be discovered by daring Destruction Warlocks. We'll find out soon enough!
