Ascendant Venomstones from Prey
When the NA servers went live earlier today, Kith'ix and Nightmare Prey did not drop Ascendant Venomstones. This now appears to have been fixed, and your first two Nightmare Preys a week will grant you a Preyhunter's Champion Chest, containing a Ascendant Venomstone.
Soul Consumables
If you've been doing Prey content during Season 2, you probably have unlocked the Afflicted Soul and Tormented Soul items. These drop from Delves and instantly summon the boss during a Nightmare Prey, while also granting a bonus Preyhunter's Champion Chest or Preyhunter's Hero Chest chest on completion.
These bonus chests always drop one Preyhunter's Champion Chest, allowing you to get one bonus Ascendant Venomstone for very little work! If you use a soul consumable and it's one of your first two Nightmare Preys of the week, congratulations on two easy Ascendant Venomstones in about a minute.

The only downside is that there is a limited number of Ascendant Venomstones available from Prey. You have a maximum of 2 Nightmare Preys that drop Venomstones directly and limited by the number of soul consumables that you have. However, these items are Warbound, so you can send them over from other characters.
