The Forever Open RulesRaider.io Signups
Sign Ups
Three years after the Hardcore Mak'gora tournament, Tips Out, EsfandTV, and Xaryu are hosting another 1v1 Dueling tournament, this time on the WoW: Forever Beta! The tournament was originally announced to have a $50,000 prize pool, but Timthetatman is contributing another $50,000.
This tournament will take place on the PvP Ruleset on Horde and players can sign up on Raider.io until October 4th October 2nd. The original registration deadline was on October 4th, but due to the number of sign-ups, the tournament registration is closing early.
Tips OutWe’ve reached 4,000 registrations for The Forever Open! On behalf of our team, thank you. The turnout has exceeded all our expectations.
The downside: we’re now at the limit of how many players our staff can manage during qualifiers. To give the team enough time to prepare and to keep qualifiers somewhat manageable without losing our last bit of hair, registration will close tomorrow, October 2, at 10:00 A.M. PT.
If you want to compete with a different race or class that you haven’t registered yet, please register that character today.
Rules
Some of the rules of the tournament include characters having the last name "Foreverpvp" and needing to be freshly created during this registration window. You can see the official rules in this Google document.

In the last few days, the rules have been updated again, with some of the rules affecting some of the recent RMT controversy.
These are new rules that includes a complete ban of Gold buying.
Buffs: Only your own class’s self-buffs are permitted, as well as buffs applied during a duel. Players may buff themselves after a duel has begun with items and consumables, provided they are not from other classes and do not violate any other rules. World buffs, temporary quest/objective buffs, and campfire buffs are banned.
Shamans: May start a duel with up to four totems placed.
Stealth openers: Stealth classes, including Druids, receive an uncontested opener. Opponents must stand still without turning until the opener begins.
Warrior openers: Warriors receive an uncontested opener unless facing a stealth class, whose opener takes priority.
What counts as an opener: The first offensive action, including ability, racial, item, or trinket use. For Druids opening with a cast such as Entangling Roots or Starfire, opponents may act when the cast begins.
Opener time limit: Players lose their uncontested opener if they wait more than 25 seconds after their opponent becomes hostile. Delays caused by the opponent do not count against a stealth class’s time limit.
Stealth vs. stealth: Neither player receives an uncontested opener; both must seek each other out.
Pre-duel restrictions: Pre-HoTs, Hunter pre-trapping, and Warlock pre-sacrificing are banned. Hunters may place traps only once the countdown reaches zero and their opponent becomes hostile.
Gold buying: Explicitly banned.
Duel delays: Reduced downtime between duels and added a penalty for delaying.
Rules organization: Renamed the Items and Consumables section and moved some rules into more relevant sections.
The tournament organizers have also mentioned an upcoming rule change regarding the Legacy system so that players don't feel like they need to grind it.
