Horde-Only Druid and Shaman Relics in Skyborne Starting Zone

Something that's always been in Classic World of Warcraft is a certain level of faction exclusivity - whether that be the type of mounts that can be obtained, quests that can be completed, ease of access to certain crafting recipes, and more. In World of Warcraft: Forever, the Horde may have a bit of an early start over their Alliance counterparts in the Skyborne starting area, thanks to a Horde-only quest that provides a Druid Idol and Shaman Totem around Level 5-6.

Acquiring the Horde-Exclusive Totem and Idol

Skyborne Horde will naturally run into this quest as they level in their starting zone, but it isn't exclusively a Skyborne quest. Creating, for example, a Tauren Druid and running them from the Tauren starting zone up to the new Skywatcher Plateau, which has a zeppelin that goes from Mulgore to Valanaar, brings a non-Skyborne Horde player to Zephras Isle.

Players can then run to the starting area, reach level 5, and head to Shen'dar Village. After arriving, picking up Welcome to Shen'dar Village and speaking to Illaya Amberwind and Coriella Calmbreeze progresses the quest, but Amberwind will then offer Meddlesome Mages. This is the quest that rewards both Windcharged Leaf and Windcarved Effigy.

Alliance players, though, won't have access to this quest - even if you make the journey, Shamans and Druids won't have the option to snag an early idol or totem since Amberwind essentially refuses to speak with them further. This means that the relic slot for Horde characters, which is usually empty until much higher levels for Druids and Shamans, will have something to equip incredibly early compared to Alliance counterparts.

That said, the value of these relics isn't necessarily massive. For Shamans, while the Windcarved Effigy does grant between 33% and 16.67% reduced mana cost on early ranks of Lightning Bolt, the spell isn't particularly mana intensive (or even used much due to the base damage nerf). Druids may look at the 40 mana reduction in the cost of shapeshifting as a massive boon, but in the 1-20 level range, powershifting isn't a major focus and really only affects shifting in and out of shapeshift forms to escape slows and snares. Otherwise, some relics are better than no relics!
