IGN Nordic Interview on WoW: Forever
IGN had an interview with:
Michael Nuthals (Senior Game Designer)
Tim Jones (Lead Game Designer)
We've summarized the interview below, but you can see the original piece on IGN Nordic.
Interview Summary
Forever
Forever is a promise to create a 'forever' home for Classic players.
Encountering People
The servers run a system that has you encounter players you've seen before.
If you run into someone in Elwynn Forest, the server will remember that and you might run into them later.
Horizontal Progression
They've changed items and how they work so that players have a reason to get new gear.
Items can have biome buffs. An item might give a speed buff while you're in a desert.
Items can also give you bonus damage against specific races, such as dragons.
A Tier 2 raid will have better loot, but they will make sure to increase player power in a responsible way, unlike SoD.
They want gear from previous raids to remain useful, such as the Onslaught Girdle.
New Content
In northern Elwynn Forest, there's a cave with kobolds and no quest. That's perfect for sending players to, or the kobolds could drop a quest.
Existing questlines have been expanded, alongside new quests.
Class Balance
They will be looking at class balance with all the new spells.
