(Reverted) Mythic Coiled Altar Nerfed Again – Race to World First

Blizzard has just nerfed Mythic Coiled Altar once again for the Race to World First guilds.

The nerfs have been reverted due to lockout issues with the hotfixes. The nerfs today never happened.

Race to World First guilds have been working on Mythic Coiled Altar for a couple of days, racking up over 200 pulls. At the time of the original writing, Echo had a 9.1% pull, Liquid had an 18.8% pull, and Method had a 23.7% pull in Phase 3. Blizzard has already nerfed the boss once, significantly reducing the Phase 2 DPS check, and has now nerfed it again, this time targeting the healing check in Phase 1 and Phase 3. This may come as a surprise to many guilds, as the top guilds are getting close and likely need a little more optimization to finish off the encounter. However, this is only the penultimate boss, and Ula'tek's difficulty is unknown.

We've datamined the following hotfixes onto live servers.

Coiled Altar

Defilement of the Coiled Altar healing absorb reduced by 20%

Coalesced Venom AoE damage reduced by 15%, and damage variance removed (was 0.05)

Venom Rupture periodic damage reduced by 10%

Retaliatory Malice damage variance removed (was 0.05)

These changes may improve consistency in both Phase 1 and 3 by reducing the healing check, but guilds may drop a healer to increase DPS to make the overall DPS check easier.
