Season 2 Overview
Crafting Sparks
Players should have two Spark of Tides this week. The first is available from a variety of quests, such as Midnight: Vaults of Atal'Utek, while the other can be obtained from Sparks of War: Voidstorm. You'll get two more after tomorrow's reset, opening up a lot of options for endgame crafting!
Most embellished items require two sparks, while two-handed weapons will use all four.
M0 World Tour
One of the most obvious ways to gain an advantage is doing a full world tour of all eight Mythic0 difficulty dungeons. Not only will this help familiarize you with the dungeons, but you'll get Champion-track item level 292 gear, which can be upgraded to 308, since those Champion Mistcrests will be supplanted after the reset.
Mythic+ Season 2
Don't forget to grab a secret pet while you're there!
Do Your Delve Map
Speaking of gear, players can get another Champion-track item by completing Vaults of Atal'Utek: A Toxic Tour, as well as a Trovehunter's Bounty map! This map grants extra loot from the next delve completed after it's used, so players should only use it after unlocking Tier 8 difficulty to maximize rewards. Completing that Tier 8 difficulty Delve with the map active will award you a Hero-track piece of gear, which is the highest and only one available in the pre-season.
You only get one per week, so make sure to use it on a Tier 8 Delve!
Unlock Corrosive Codex Powers
While you're in the Vaults, make sure to farm Corrosive Souls to unlock a power within the Corrosive Codex. Not to be confused with the Altar of Corrosion, these Codex powers are available in Delves, which means you can use them to gain an advantage against the ?? Difficulty Nemesis coming up next!
The Vaults of Atal'Utek
You can unlock any power and switch between them, but there are no refunds!
Meet Your Newest Nemesis
While you're there, you might as well push to complete a Tier 11 Delve as well, unlocking the Nemesis boss on ? difficulty. You don't necessarily need to do it today, though it might not be a bad idea to familiarize yourself with the fight before ?? difficulty releases after the reset. Defeating the nemesis will award 60 Hero Mistcrests over the season cap, while the ?? difficulty will award another 30 Myth Mistcrests, making this a very important goal for endgame raiders.
Azta'rec Nemesis Boss Guide
The Nemesis Delve boss also offers several other rewards, including the limited-time Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Azta'rec achievement, only for players who defeat the boss within the first week of Season 2!
Simon Says: Don't die.
Fill out the Vault
Players should also fully fill out the Dungeon & Row World of their Great Vault, so that they'll have the maximum selection of rewards to choose from tomorrow. While bonus rolls will not be available for this very first Vault, players can still take a Miasmic Jewelbinder for sockets, or early tier piece to jumpstart the acquisition of their new sets.
Thankfully, this should happen naturally over the course of finishing all the other goals on this list, but double check, just to make sure.
For tier, simply filling the track is more important than the item level!
Complete the Campaign
While it may be less of a priority for players focused on seasonal dungeons and raids, players should finish the first four chapters of the Coiled Isle campaign, in preparation for more story releasing after the weekly reset! It'll also help make sense of the story within the Venomous Abyss raid, if you're into that sort of thing.
