Hidden Slitherfang Pet Found by WoW Secret Finders

The first secret of Patch 12.1 has been found, as the WoW Secret Finding & Collections Discord has discovered Slitherfang inside the Altar of Fangs!

Rescued from the Altar of Fangs, Slitherfang is a tenacious, fierce, and positively adorable survivor.

Finding this pet requires a full group of five players to complete a special ritual inside the Mythic difficulty version of the new Patch 12.1 dungeon, Altar of Fangs.

Obtain Reagents
After players clear to the first boss, they can find interactable objects around the poison waterfalls near Rav'i. One player must pick up a Ritual Reagent, while the other four take Reversal Charms.

Search around the poison waterfalls in Rav'i's arena.

Enact the Ritual
After clearing the dungeon's second boss, players will find an Ascendent Serpent surrounded by four poisonous totems. Clear the trash, but instead of interacting with the totems, the four players with Reversal Charms will need to stand on the four totems, while the Ritual Reagent player stands moves to the serpent.

Kill the trash, but don't touch the totems!

A special action button should then appear for all five players. The Ritual Reagent player should use theirs first, followed by the four Reversal Charms. Once all five are completed, the Ascendent Serpent will transform into a large version of Slitherfang, which all players can interact with to receive the Slitherfang pet.

Credit to Bellzzar for the discovery and explanation.

No Freebies
Though they will get no loot from bosses, players who have already cleared Mythic0 this week can reclear the dungeon to enact the ritual and obtain the pet, however, the cleansed Slitherfang NPC despawns as soon as five players have clicked on it, so new players cannot join the instance after the ritual has been completed to claim more pets.

For players who like to match, Slitherfang shares a color scheme with The Writhing Brood mount, which drops from Zul'jan's Strongbox at the end of the dungeon.
