Blueprints Save and Share Your House Designs
One of the most requested features since the launch of player housing, blueprints allow players to save, import, and export their decor designs with one another. Not only does this allow players to share their layouts, it also lets players save and restore their work-in-progress. Losing all your hard work when redecorating rooms, changing layotus, or moving houses will be a thing of the past!
Players have already been showcasing and sharing their designs online through various websites and social media, but that only tells players what it's supposed to look like, leaving it up to the next player to correctly place dozens, hundreds, sometimes thousands of pieces of decor in just the right order all by themselves.
A robust UI will convey exactly what's inside the blueprint, which parts you're missing, and allow import even if missing some pieces.
Developers have routinely expressed their joy in seeing all the creative work done by the community, and now players can finally share them with one another, opening up a whole world for interior (and exterior) designers to ply their trade, as well as simply making it easier for players to try new things without ruining their carefully crafted home.
Bring Non-Combat Pets Home
New Pet Bed decor items finally allow players to add noncombat pets to their home! Not only does this give them a place to curl up and look cute, navigation technology will allow them to wander through their new home, just like a real pet should.
As explained in the WoWCast discussion, pets can be placed on beds or be set to wander, so this behavior might not be completely dynamic, though it seems to the way noncombat pets could roam through the Garrison in Warlords of Draenor. Emphasis has been put on wandering around and between decor, which would imply that the pets aren't intended to just walk in circles and clip through everything in the way. We've also seen screenshots of pets sitting on top of chairs and rugs, suggesting reasonably robust support for placing your pets wherever you want them.
There may be some limitations though. It's not exactly clear how many pets may inhabit your home at one time, and the preview does seem to imply that they will only be able to stay inside the home, rather than frolic around the exterior. This update also appears to be firmly fixed on noncombat pets, so your Hunter pets will have to stay in the stable for now.
Housing Updates: Make the Most of Housing with New Blueprints and Pets!
For players who want to share their cool builds with others, you’ll be able to export the entirety of your exterior and your interior, or your interior, your exterior, or a single room alone as you like.
Other players will be able to import your exports to use with their own homes. If you want to try something new, you’ll also be able to save what you currently have in place, play around with additional layouts, and then reload if you change your mind.
If you want to start with a clean slate completely, there will also be a new Reset option which places all your items back in your storage and lets you start new.
If you’re hoping to import a blueprint but don’t have everything in that blueprint already, the system will show you a list of what is in a blueprint and tell you what you have or are missing. You will still be able to import even if some items are missing.
Welcome Your Pets Home
Let your pets roam free in your home by adding a Pet Bed decor item which will let you place your noncombat companion pet inside the house. Your pet will also be able to wander through your home through some new navigation technology allowing them to make their way around your decor.
