Easiest Dungeons to Earn 3,400 Mythic+ Rating From in Midnight Season 1

With the help of Raider.IO, we will be taking a look at what dungeons will be easiest to run when going after 3,400 Mythic+ rating for the Keystone Myth achievement.

Raider.IO Statistics Midnight Season 1 Mythic+ Rewards

This Tier List provides a quick summary of what dungeons players will have the easiest time with while grinding out 3,400 Mythic+ Rating for Midnight Keystone Myth: Season One. Data and statistics will be used for a deeper dive into why each dungeon is placed where it is on this list.

Algeth'ar Academy's dungeon timer was recently increased but shouldn't change too much from the analysis.

The Immediate Ramp in Difficulty (The Short Part)
Once you start to begin attempting these dungeons around the +16 level, the immediate ramp in difficulty becomes present. Certain spells and abilities become a severe threat to the player's survivability, mobs live much longer, and heal checks can make or break a group's success.

Here are the most common problem points in dungeons at these higher Keystone levels:

Vexamus becomes one of the hardest dungeon bosses, being able to instant kill players with Mana Bombs into Arcane Fissure if the healer can't top players in a split-second.

Nexus-Point Xenas has deadly trash in each wing. Whether it's Circuit Seers, Lingering Images, or Duskfright Heralds, many packs in this dungeon can cause a group wipe and prevent timing the key.

The Tormented Shades on the bridge section of Maisara Caverns are awkward to group, have a high kick requirement, and are closely packed together. Accidentally overpulling here is detrimental.

When fighting Viceroy Nezhar in Seat of the Triumvirate, the DoT from being hit by Umbral Waves is extremely difficult to heal without externals or specialized abilities like Death Knights Anti-Magic Shell.

Making Sense of the Data (The Long Part)
To achieve 3,400 Mythic+ Rating for Keystone Myth, players will need to time all Midnight Season 1 dungeons around the +15 to +17 range. The most consistent way to achieve 3,400 Mythic+ Rating is all timed +16 dungeons, but it is not the only way to earn the Rating requirement for Keystone Myth.

There are two main sources of data we will use in our determination: total runs and dungeon timer distributions for Mythic+ dungeons run at +15 and higher. We will look at the entire length of the season so far; we are currently in Week 6 of Midnight Season 1.

The graph below details the total runs for each dungeon in Midnight Season 1. The blue bar represents timed dungeon runs, and the red bar represents over time (depleted) dungeon runs. The table below provides exact numbers for the graph.

Total Runs for Midnight Season 1 Dungeons

Observations:

Skyreach has the highest timed percentage compared to other dungeons. 87.3% of Skyreach runs are being timed at +15 and higher at this point in the season.

Algeth'ar Academy has the current lowest timed percentage, with 78.3% of Algeth'ar Academy runs being timed at +15 and higher.

Pit of Saron is the most popular dungeon being run, having a staggering ~148K total runs, which is ~18K more than the next highest dungeon, Skyreach.

Nexus-Point Xenas is the least popular dungeon being run, with only ~119K total runs at this point in the season.

To extend our analysis, we will look at the box and whisker plot of the dungeon times for each dungeon run in Midnight Season 1 so far. This is to help visualize the variability of success between each dungeon, with larger boxes signifying higher variance. In other words, we are checking the consistency of each dungeon and whether we can expect a certain result before doing the dungeon.

Box and Whisker Plot for Dungeon Times of Midnight Season 1 Dungeons

Observations:

Skyreach and Magisters' Terrace skew more positive than other dungeons, meaning a majority of players are comfortably timing these dungeons without too much stress. Additionally, Magisters' Terrace has slightly less variance than Skyreach, evidenced by the smaller whiskers.

Algeth'ar Academy has the smallest whiskers, and the box closest to 0%. A majority of players are timing their Algeth'ar runs, but they are very close to not timing, hinting at a strict dungeon timer.

Pit of Saron has the largest whiskers, meaning high variance between each Pit of Saron run. While Pit of Saron has a higher chance of success than other dungeons, it has a higher chance of going downhill depending on the group.

Nexus-Point Xenas has smaller whiskers and skews less positive than other dungeons, despite having an 84.2% timed rate across all of its runs. Like Algeth'ar Academy, players are consistently close to not timing Nexus-Point Xenas.

Disclaimers
While this data helps us approach conclusions on how each dungeon will be difficulty-wise, there are a few considerations to keep in mind:

This data does not include abandoned runs. If you are going for 3,400 Mythic+ Rating using Group Finder, certain dungeons might be painful to time if groups are consistently voting to abandon the run. Raider.IO does have Abandon Rates for each dungeon, but it is currently still in Beta.

Dungeons are always subject to future tuning and timer changes, which could affect the overall success rate for a dungeon.

This data only looks at the first six weeks of Midnight Season 1 Mythic+, and is not representative of the entire season.

The Ascendant Nilhammer is still not available at the time of this post, which will further increase players' item level and power later into Patch 12.0.5.

Overall, this information is here to help give you the best educated guess on what dungeons will be easier to time when reaching 3,400 Mythic+ Rating at the launch of Patch 12.0.5.
