Void Tier 2 Armor Appearances Are Randomized Vendor Purchases in Patch 12.0.5

The Void Tier 2 Armor coming in Patch 12.0.5 will have randomized drop chances from a vendor, potentially creating a painful grind for players looking to acquire specific sets.

Midnight Patch 12.0.5 Overview

Void Tier 2 Armor Appearances
Originally introduced in the 20th Anniversary Event, the Tier 2 Armor sets are getting a void recolor in Patch 12.0.5. These items will be sold Triam Dawnsetter for Field Accolade, but there's a catch. Instead of being sold directly, the armor sets are sold in caches, randomized by armor slot.

RNG Acquisition of Void Tier 2 Armor
When a certain class set piece is acquired, it cannot be earned again. While this does help protect against bad luck, the grind can still be painful.

Because Paladins have two leg appearances and Druids have two chest appearances, it could potentially cost players 0 Field Accolade to get their desired appearance for the chest and legs slots, and up to 0 Field Accolade for every other armor slot.

Without the ability to target appearances for specific classes, it could cost up to 0 Field Accolade to complete a specific set. This becomes problematic for those who only want a specific class set.

Additionally, Field Accolade drop rates are low given the time commitment to complete activities. For example, a Tier 3 Ritual Site takes roughly 10-15 minutes to complete solo, and drops roughly 35 Field Accolades. This averages out to roughly a 30-minute time investment for a single chance at their set item that isn't guaranteed. This can quickly snowball into hours of grinding if a player isn't lucky.
