Farming Vile Essence
Farming Vile Essence is tedious due to low drop rates from Elite mobs. Here are a few ways to farm this currency as efficiently as possible:
Vile Essence drops from mobs in the Elite zone: Hex Guardian, Vile Boneguard, Vile Tormentor, Vile Pathcarver, Worm Wrangler, and Vilebranch Souleater.
Do not farm Vile Essence solo. Create a group, or join Vile Essence farming groups in the Group Finder.
If you're having trouble killing mobs, pick up the Send Dem Home quest from the Dirty Deeps questline. This quest gives you Shadra's Gift, an extra ability that grants the Reciprocal Power buff. This buff gives you increased damage and periodic healing.
The highest density of mobs is typically right outside the entrance to the Maisara Caverns dungeon. Patrol around the area first to pull as many mobs as quickly as possible.
Look for areas with high mob density to maximize Vile Essence gains.
Hexed Vilefeather Eagle
Players report spending roughly 6-8 hours farming all 1000 Vile Essence. Looting the Abandoned Ritual Skull rewards the Hexed Vilefeather Eagle mount. It's an eagle with a hoodie, who doesn't love that? Additionally, this mount has green glow effects around the eyes and back tail feathers. Good luck to all those farming for this mount!
