Dracthyr Automatically Switch Forms in Combat With Battle Visage

Among the many class changes previewed in the Patch 12.0.5 PTR Development Notes, Dracthyr are gaining the ability to dynamically switch between draconic and visage forms mid-combat!

Although not yet ready for testing, Battle Visage will be a new toggle similar to Chosen Identity, except it automatically change characters into draconic form when using spells that require it, before swapping back to their visage form for other combat animations. Somewhat similar to the way a Druid might automatically shift into various forms for certain abilities, this does not quite mean always staying in your chosen form during combat, but should allow visage form to be used for the majority of combat.

Savvy spell-sleuths may notice a spell called Battle Visage in this week’s build data. While this feature isn’t ready for testing just yet, we wanted to give a heads up and set a few expectations.

Battle Visage is intended to be a toggleable spell for Evokers like Chosen Identity, that while active causes your character to automatically switch to their Dracthyr form for spells that require their draconic physique. After the spell is finished, they will automatically return to Visage form.

There are some technical hurdles we’re working through with Battle Visage specifically in regards to the camera positioning, as switching quickly between the forms can cause discomfort as the camera moves up and down.

We look forward to your feedback on Battle Visage in a future PTR build!
