Like Alani and Alunira before it, Aln'sharan is special rare spawn protected from normal combat, with players instead required to collect a number of special drops throughout the zone in order to interact with the creature and obtain its mount.
Alani and Alunira similarly require collecting very rare drops from across their respective zones before awarding unique mounts.

This will start players off with 5 Mysterious Skyshards, but more importantly it will enable them to drop from seemingly any mob in Harandar. Players in a hurry to unlock the mount as soon as possible can repeatedly speed pull The Grudge Pit delve on T1 difficulty, but the Skyshards are likely be collected over the course of the expansion and are warbound for easy trading between characters.
The next step is only hinted at in the previous quest finale, but once players have collected 500 of the rare items, returning to Kuri at the site of their final quest will cause an extra action button will appear - prompting players to throw their shards into the lake, applying Aln'sharan's Blessing.

With their new buff, players can interact with Aln'sharan flying high in the skies of Harandar... just don't fly too high or you might inadvertently earn the From The Cradle to the Grave achievement! Upon locating the dragon, two final impediments remain:

Players cannot interact with the dragon while mounted, so it is highly advised to use a Goblin Glider Kit, parasol toy, Heroic Leap,Glide, or be a Druid to avoid falling to your death.
An Inky Black Potion may help make the translucent green and gold dragon stand out more, plus it makes the zone look really cool!
Whether you survive or not, successfully interacting with the dragon will award both the Echo of Aln'sharan mount and Herald of the Goddess Feat of Strength!
