Blue Profession Gear Now Available to Buy and Sell on Auction House

Blue Profession gear is now available to buy and sell on the Auction House and opens up some huge gold-making opportunities.

Professions Overview

Profession Gear Basics

Profession gear gives you a large increase to your Profession skill. Skill is need is needed to craft at a higher tier, or at the very least reduce the concentration needed to make that craft. Every profession has 3 slots for profession gear: 2 "gear" slots and a tool slot. For a full set of uncommon gear, this gives you +18 skill to Midnight crafts. However, the full set of rare (blue) gear give you +40 skill to Midnight crafts. This difference could be enough to guarantee a craft without any concentration needed.

Here are some examples from Alchemy:

Profession Gear Hotfix

It looks like last night at around 3:30 PM PST, a hotfix was applied to live servers that makes the Blue (rare) profession gear Bind-on-Equip. This is a massive change from The War Within, where players had to Work Order their Blue Profession materials, and it was time-gated due to needing a time-gated currency. Not only can players now immediately purchase Blue profession gear, but also there is a brand new market for this gear and players can take advantage of this to make gold.

Previously, players would who wanted to get into the Profession gear market would need to advertise via trade chat since the tools were only available through Work Order, but now it's as simple as making the item and listing it on the Auction House.

Epic Gear

There is also a lot of Epic Profession gear in Midnight, but it doesn't actually provide any more skill, which is the main reason to upgrade your Profession gear. You still get more Profession stats like Ingenuity or Resourcefulness, but the number one goal for a lot of players is to reduce the concentration needed or prevent the need for concentration altogether.
