Like the Blazing Royal Firehawk & Golden Ashes of Al'ar earlier this year, these mounts are earned through another high-cost gatcha-game. Launching on November 18th and 19th, the Treasures of Azeroth event is broken up into two parts, featuring separate prizes for The War Within and Classic Mists of Pandaria.
Treasure Trove of Azeroth - Custom Mecha-Panthers in The War Within
Coming to The War Within are two brand-new customizable flying robot-panther mounts, whose claws tear through the air with agile movements. Themed as a melding of alternate timelines, the Mechanical Prototype Panther MK-0 and Steel Prototype Panther MK-0 are the pinnacle of Steel Horde and Undermine technology, both featuring a variety of visual customizations, which can be freely changed at the Rostrums of Transformation.
Mechanical Prototype Panther MK-0
When Gadetzan citizens pried open Gazlowe Palace's underground lab, caged beasts' roars were suffocating. Undermine tech fused combat modules onto these panthers, granting superhuman strength and speed. Rustbolt engineers reprogrammed them exclusively for warriors campaigning in K'aresh. Remember to swap modules at the Morphing Forum before deployment.
Customizations include the color, goggles, helm, nape, saddle, and shoulders.
Steel Prototype Panther MK-0
The first Steel Horde soldiers crossing the Dark Portal captured a ferocious nightsaber. Blackrock artisans armed it with magma armor, transforming it into a combat weapon. Warriors may customize its parts at the Morphing Forum to suit their fighting style and dominate the battlefield.
Customizations include the helm, nape, saddle, and shoulder.
Obtaining the mounts is a matter of chance though. Both panthers are featured alongside several other rewards in a gatcha-style lottery system, in which players will repeatedly pay to unlock one of the prizes at random.
Titan Reforged Treasure - Classic Flying Vendor Mount
On Classic Mists of Pandaria and Titan Reforged servers, Chinese players can instead get their hands on Emberbringer, World of Warcraft's first flying vendor mount, a Obsidian Worldbreaker-like dragon flanked by two whelplings offering repair and mailbox services!
Emberbringer is the Worldbreaker-like main mount.
Sparkon is a repair vendor.
Amberia features mailbox services.
Note we haven't yet verified official translations for these names, so they might not be completely accurate.
The two faithful whelplings ride along wherever you go!
Once again, earning the mount is a matter of chance, featured in another "treasure chest" of random rewards alongside several other mounts, pets, and toys.
All Fun and Gatcha Games
Earning these illustrious new mounts isn't quite as simple as making a purchase though. Instead, players will purchase Treasure Points, which can then be converted into either Azerothian Treasure Coins for TWW or Titan Reforged Treasure Coins for Classic servers. These coins are then spent to draw a random prize.
One RMB (~$0.14 USD) = 1 Treasure Point
1 Treasure Point = 1 Treasure Coin
6 Treasure Coins = 1 random draw
30 Treasure Coins = 10 random draws (once per account)
54 Treasure Coins = 10 random draws (all subsequent draws)
Azerothian Treasure Coins can be spent gambling for The War Within retail server rewards, including the two new customizable mecha-panthers. It's not yet clear exactly how much it will cost to get all prizes, as there will be an element of luck involved, but expected to be somewhere between 1,000-2,000 RMB (~$140-280 USD) for both prize pools.
