Blizzard Damage Meter
With the addon changes coming in Midnight, players will be using Blizzard's In-Game damage meters. On the Midnight Alpha, we've now got a first look at the in-game damage meter and what options it'll have.
This is only a first look at Blizzard's Damage Meter as it's incomplete at the moment. However, you can still give feedback on what you feel like is missing.
Data Options
On the actual window itself, you have a couple options. At a baseline, you can create new windows, but only up to a maximum of 3 and each of these windows can show you a different statistic.
Compared to the Details Addon, the amount of data options is much lower and only includes:
Damage - Damage Done
Damage - DPS
Healing - Healing Done
Healing - HPS
Clicking on one of the bars brings up a new window to the side which currently shows nothing. In the future, it will likely show you some type of breakdown but it's unclear exactly what at the moment.
Edit Mode Options
In the Edit Mode, you can customize many things related to the overall size of the damage meter.
This includes:
Style - Default or Thin
Numbers - Minimal, Compact or Complete
Frame Width and Height
Padding
Transparency
Visibility - Always, In-Combat, Hidden
Lock Scrolling
Options to Show Spec Icon and/or Class Color
What's Missing?
Users of current damage meters via addons will likely notice some missing tools that are commonly used. These may be added in a future build when the tool is actually working, but as of the current alpha build, are not included in the options. These include:
Death Log
Interrupt Tracking
Dispel Tracking
Damage Taken
Enemy Healing Done
Enemy Damage Taken
Make sure to give your feedback on what you want from the in-game damage meter. What do you feel like is missing?
