Scourge Invasions in WoW Classic Phase 6
What Is The Scourge Invasion Event
The Scourge Invasion in WoW Classic will release concurrently with the Naxxramas raid, at 3:00 pm PDT on Thursday, October 2nd. During this event, you will notice Necropolises appear in six different zones. Underneath, you'll see groups of undead spawned around crystals. As you clear the undead in the area, the crystals will become damaged, eventually leading to the temporary removal of the Necropolis from the area.
Players can collect items such as Necrotic Rune to turn in for rewards like Blessed Wizard Oil, Consecrated Sharpening Stone, Tabard of the Argent Dawn, and a plethora of Argent Dawn reputation.
Zone Invasions
You’ll find scourge invasions marked on your World Map with a purple skull in the following zones:
Eastern Plaguelands
Burning Steppes
Blasted Lands
Tanaris
Winterspring
Azshara
In Eastern Plaguelands, Burning Steppes, Blasted Lands, Tanaris, Winterspring, and Azshara, you'll find a Necropolis floating in the sky, with circles of scourge close by. By killing scourge in the area, you'll receive Necrotic Rune and Invader's Scourgestone (if you have your Argent Dawn Commission trinket equipped), as well as other common mob drops.
By killing the scourge, you'll damage the crystal in the middle of each circle. Once the crystal is down, four Cultist Engineer will appear, attempting to repair the crystal. Speak to each, one by one, and pay them Necrotic Rune (8) to stop them. They will transform into a Shadow of Doom, an elite undead mob. Upon its defeat, each one will drop Necrotic Rune (30), Corruptor's Scourgestone, and have a chance to drop Robe of Undead Cleansing, Tunic of Undead Slaying, Chestguard of Undead Slaying, or Breastplate of Undead Slaying. Repeat this four times, until all Cultist Engineers are defeated, and the scourge circle in that particular area will disappear temporarily.
Players will also receive a 30-minute buff upon clearing the scourge circle, Soul Revival, which increases all damage caused by 10%. After 150 battles have been won, you may return to Light's Hope Chapel or the Argent Dawn reps in your city to receive Marks of the Dawn, based on your level:
Once the event is over, you will no longer be able to obtain quest rewards associated with the invasions, so you won't want to miss out this time around!
