Who are the Haranir?
The Haranir are a deeply spiritual race connected to all life on Azeroth and charged to guard it with their lives. They practice natural druidic magic, shapeshifting into other forms like giant quill bats. The Haranir are a reclusive people bound by sacred oaths forbidding them from unveiling their shrouded existence.
In Midnight, players venture to their primordial homeland of Harandar, a fungal jungle built around the roots of the World Trees, where all manners of bioluminescent wildlife thrive.
Our History With the Haranir
Players initially encounter the Haranir at the beginning of the Azj-Kahet story campaign, where one of their leaders, Orweyna, defied sacred oaths against unveiling the Haranir's existence in order to save the survivors of an Arathi Airship.
Particularly in tune with the Radiant Song of Azeroth, Orweyna's visions have become dire as she seeks to protect the great roots from the growing threat of Xal'atath's Black Blood. Through her continued investigations, we learn about Gallywix's Black Blood weapons project and journey into Undermine to thwart this major threat.
Despite her people's fervent protests, Orwyena's visions have led her to reveal the Haranir's existence and work with the forces of Azeroth. Defying her people's sacred, unseen oath for her visions has taken its toll, but the former Speaker Magni advised her not to carry the burden alone and encouraged her to seek out others who would walk the path beside her.
