On this day, September 25, 2012, 9 years ago, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria was released. Struggling between a content drought after the release of Dragon Soul, the final raid in Cataclysm, and the perceived cheesiness of an Asian themed continent populated with pandas, players weren't sure what to expect. Early reputation grinds notwithstanding, most were pleasantly surprised and Mists of Pandaria remains one of the most popular World of Warcraft expansions to date.
