The Corrupted Blood Incident Began Sixteen Years Ago on September 15, 2005

When World of Warcraft Patch 1.7.0: Rise of the Blood God released on September 13, 2005, a small bug managed to make its way into the game. On September 15th, 2005, 16 years ago, that little bug went viral causing the deaths of thousands of player characters and seriously disrupting players' ability to play the game as it was intended.

How it Worked
The final boss in the new raid, Zul'Gurub, was Hakkar the Soulflayer.
